Amitabha Practices for Supporting Transition and Death

  • Windhorse Community Services 1200 Yarmouth Ave, Unit C-1B Boulder, CO 80304 USA (map)

If you couldn’t attend Venerable Khenpo’s week long Phowa retreat, or you want to have a synopsis and concise version of this special practice; learn how to benefits others in transition, as well as yourself is still assessable in the Boulder Sunday teaching.

Amitabha practice is practiced both as a way to purify karma during our lifetime; create auspicious conditions for enlightenment in this very life and train how to master the “wind energy” of the subtle body.

This is a devotional meditative practice grounded in understanding impermanence, the preciousness of the human body and opening to the heart of Bodhichitta.

As a Phowa practice this can build confidence during the experience of dying and assist the transition both for oneself and for those working with others in that precious transition. As we all must face the door of death it is helpful to not only prepare but aid those who may be fearful of this process.

Retreat master Venerable Khenpo Jigme will be giving these teachings to further enhance any instructions on the death practices, as well as introduce the Amitabha practice to all.

All are welcome - there is no cost to attend and you may purchase the text separately if you would like.
